“Memoria del Matadero” is a concept magazine which serves as a look back through the 100 years of the building’s existence. Created with the guidance of Koln Studio for an Editorial Graphic Design class in the Master Beyond Branding from Elisava School in Madrid.
From its beginnings as a municipal slaughterhouse on the fringes of the city of Madrid to the contemporary cultural center it works as today, the space has seen transformation and changed alongside the city. As a powerful symbol of what is needed for the population, this magazine takes a hard look at the connection this building has with a city’s identity.
